Drupal 8 wiki11/21/2023 Dont run the actual Drupal installer yet - follow the next steps in this guide first. The procedure depends on which version of Drupal you are installing - read the install instructions for Drupal 8 or Drupal 7. Put the Drupal source code inside C:xampphtdocsdrupal. Other topics covered will include Drupal’s “Migrate” and “Migrate Plus” modules, how to efficiently migrate pieces of your site that can’t utilize these modules, testing strategies for your new Drupal 8 site and how to communicate with content editors post-migration. Step 2: Get the Drupal source code and create databases. (2) Some vendors like RedHat/CentOS and Ubuntu LTS offer extended support for these versions of PHP, check with your vendor. This guide has sections covering major version upgrades of Drupal core (for example, Drupal 6 to Drupal 9, or Drupal 9 to Drupal 10.) There are separate instructions for minor and patch version site updates. See the release cycle overview for more information on possible release dates. Drupal 10 released on 15 December 2022 Drupal 10 was released ahead of Drupal 9's end of life, similar to the transition between Drupal 8 and 9. The end of life date for Drupal 9 is 1 November 2023, when Symfony 4 reaches its end of life. This poster will review criteria for deciding whether (and when) to migrate, benefits of Drupal 8 over Drupal 7, and how we prepared our stakeholders for the migration. (1) The minimum recommended PHP version for Drupal 7 was PHP 7.2.x until its official end-of-life at 30 Nov, 2020. Drupal 9 support will end on 1 November 2023 Drupal uses a lot of Symfony code. Getting from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8 is more of a migration than an upgrade, but we’ve found D8 to be well worth the effort. This poster will walk you through the process of upgrading your Drupal 6 or 7 site to Drupal 8, drawing on lessons learned from upgrading NC State University Libraries’s Drupal site in 2018 and our experiences since the upgrade. Hundreds of academic libraries use Drupal to organize and display content on the web - but less than 40% of sites using Drupal have upgraded to D8 (according to usage statistics), and support for D7 is ending in less than 2 years.
